  • Condition: Wonderful molded and painted hair. Voice box is mute. Cloth body is clean - - a very little staining on back near neck. All fingers present. Comes with vintage pink wool (?) home made three piece outfit (pants, top, & hat). New booties also included. Auction is for doll plus pink outfit. White long christening dress is NOT included. Included just to showcase doll. Doll is also cute in a knit outfit (sweater, booties, and tie hat). Open mouth with both upper teeth and tongue. Tin eyes open and close, but occassionlly need a gentle push to open completely, but I had her in the rocker that tips slightly backwards. Left eye has some color missing from the iris - - could color in to make them brighter. I think the arms and legs have been repainted sometime and whoever did it, did a very good job. I kept looking at the head to see if it has been repainted and there is a worn spot on the back of her head, so I don't think so. In addition, the cloth on her body is very good.

    Description

    22" Ideal Composition Doll. Sold with outfit that I bought her in - three-piece pink outfit.
    There are what I think are some raised marks/letters on the back of the neck, but I couldn't make them out.  However, when I purchased her I was told she was an Ideal composition doll from the 30s/40s.
    Open mouth, 2 upper teeth. Brown molded hair. Tin eyes with some paint loss on the one eye (see first picture).  Muslin cloth body in great shape. There is a little split in the one shoulder seam seam where a safety pin has been put to reinforce it. I didn't notice until I was wrapping her. Mute speaker. Compo arms and legs which I think have been re-painted.  I don't think the head has been repainted.  The mouth paint looks original and there is some rubs in the back of the head.  Please enlarge my pictures.
    Comes with pink flannel/wool 3-piece outfit (hat, pants, top with tie).  Newer booties included.
