This is an EXCEEDINGLY RARE dollhouse doll Victorian Era lady, made by the master dollhouse doll maker, Marcia Backstrom
. This character was made in the 1990s. She is portrayed as a ravishingly beautiful, and well-matured woman. She is older, but like a fine wine, has aged well. She has an exquisitely sculpted face with soft, gentle features and caring eyes. She has natural red colored hair swept up underneath a dramatic Victorian black hat. Her coordinating dress is made of black antique silk and lace shawl draped over her shoulders. Amazing facial features and hands that look like they are longing to be held again. This wonderful little miniature was from a collection, 40 years in the making.  Every collection has a story and this one is well, just wonderfully special. I was surprised to see such a tiny home with so many minis, the story behind the person, is that she lived a grand life in a large home, she traveled the world in search for artisan miniatures and boy did she find them.  This collection is so vast, it features miniatures from artisans around the world, most pre internet as she preferred to go to shows or meet the artisans directly but
what was so 'wonderfully' special to me, was in the last years of her life, she sold her estate, moved to a small home and surrounded herself with all of the things that made her happy...her miniatures and  I know she would want each piece to find a wonderful new collection to reside within.  Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
