  • Condition: This original 1945 complete Lobby Card set exhibits clean and generally unfettered images of this classic movie. The flaw that exist are mainly on the Lobby Card borders or are unobtrusive. There are pin holes on the Lobby Cards along their borders (about 3 to 6 each) with maybe one or two pin holes on one or two Lobby Cards being inside the image by no more than 1" to 2". There is toning/aging along the borders but they have held up and are straight. There is tape on two of the Lobby Cards (to repair tears) which barely protrudes to the front edges. One Lobby Card has a 3" piece of paper missing along the top edge but the loss does not protrude into the image. The blue ink along the bottom denoting the NSS warning, Country of Origin, and RKO Copyright have started to fade on most of the Lobby Cards - but you can stil read them. There is writing on the reverse of a few but it does not bleed through to the front. Main images are clean. Please review the photos carefully.

    Description

    This is the Original (1sh) 1945 Lobby Card Set
    TARZAN AND THE AMAZONS.
    They were used by
    RKO
    to promote this movie when it was released in 1945.  They are not reprints nor reproductions.  The set includes the Title Lobby Card and 7 Lobby Cards.   The Title Lobby Card is the one on the bottom right in the first photo and is the first photo of an individual Lobby Card. The movie stars
    Johnny Weissmuller, Brenda Joyce, Johnny Sheffield
    , Henry Stephenson, Maria Ouspenskaya, Barton MacLane, Donald Douglas, Steven Geray, J.M. Kerrigan, and Shirley O'Hara.  It was directed by Kurt Neumann.
    These unrestored movie Lobby Cards each measure 11" x 14".  They are Flat and are mounted on medium stock paper backing.
    These original movie Lobby Cards are graded C6, Fine.
    Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   This complete Lobby Card set is immediately ready for framing and display.  The main images are generally flawless, with the majority of flaws occurring along the border/edges of the Lobby Cards.  We note that in a few of the photos a yellow color is seen along the border area.  That yellow is a result of the flash hitting a worn area and there is no actual yellow color along the borders.  In a few instances, a few stray pin holes have protruded into the image are by an inch or two, but these pin holes are truly not visible without extremely close inspection.  Tape is present on the reverse of several of the Lobby Cards but can only be seen on the front edges on two of the Lobby Cards.  The colors are still very strong and have not faded.   The pictures of Weissmuller and all are spectacular, particularly if you watched the initial broadcasts of these episodes and movies.
