    Description

Rare Vintage Jim Gans IGMA Artist Signed Dollhouse Wooden Wringer Washer Tub, c. 1982. This wringer wash tub is in beautiful original, unused, not played with, nor ever displayed, condition and is from a smoke free home. There are some rough areas where the artist must have carved out the bucket handles (see photos). There is one small edge scratch on the back board below the ringer. This might have been done while being stored. There are no other concerns, other than perhaps dust from decades of storage. The working crank turns which activates the bottom wringer roller. The old fashioned wash tub is painstakenly constructed with many small vertical wood slats and top and bottom wood bands to hold the tub in shape. The wash tub is signed on the bottom J Gans 82. I believe it is 1:12 scale. This piece measures 3 1/4" tall, 2 1/2" around. This unusual beautifully master-crafted piece by Jim Gans, a well known dollhouse miniature artisan, was in my mother's collection that I inherited. My mother was a doll and dollhouse collector all her life and she continued to add lovely items to her collections up until she died in 1987. The original price tag is still on the bottom. I strive to be completely honest in the details of my descriptions. The photos seem to fade this item, but it is in very nice condition, and looks to be stained a nice oak tone. There are color variations of stain on the tub slats that only give it more original old time looking character. Please view the photos for details and condition. Feel free to message me with any concerns or questions. I will be adding a number of other Jim Gans and other artisan, vintage or antique doll house items over the next couple months, as I am downsizing as a promise to my family in my retirement years. Shipped with USPS First Class.
