in the medina of Fez, in Morocco, we find the district of tanners whose real name is Blida. It has been around since the Middle Ages and leatherworking is one of the major crafts. The neighborhood and the techniques have remained the same. The artisans immerse the tanned hides in vats and trample them to extract the impurities. They put them in different baths for several days before coloring them.
