This low-budget but well-crafted thriller is the story of a mad scientist (Atwill) who turns a man (Chaney) into an electrically-controlled monster to do his bidding. The film was originally intended for Universal's two reigning horror icons (Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi) but was given instead to Atwill and Chaney (in his first Universal horror role).
